Bring a Sleeping Bag - Stay in the Dorm's!   We are planning a fun filled memorable time for those staying at the park!!

The lodging at Wilderness State Park is exactly the same today as it was in 1970.  Three large dormitories, each holding a dozen simple bunk beds, are grouped together North of the Dining  Hall.  These simple structures, built of large white pine logs (probably harvested on site) can be seen in the background in some of the photos taken at that reunion, While they provide very economical lodging for a group such as our, they are very primitive with neither indoor bathroom, water, or any bedding for the bunk beds.  In order to help those coming from Sweden, we should use the Message Board to connect them with Americans willing to bring spare sleeping bags, pillows, and towels for them to use.  We will use the same strategy of 1970 and have one dormitory for men, one for women, and one for mothers with young children.

Other lodging at the park includes six remote cabins scattered along the shore of Lake Michigan and Sturgeon Bay.  These cabins are from two to five miles from the dormitories but they can sleep up to eight people in the same simple bunkbeds of the dorms.  These would be a good choice for a family unit who wanted to have a separate space away from the groups.  They are available for $80/night and again, have no electricity, water, or bedding.  Water is pumped by hand, and toilet facilities are "outside"!

We have included on the Travel Planner page some listings of off-site lodging including a Resort and two Motels who have quoted favorable rates for our reunion attendees.
